Well, I finally finished for the school year and am quite relieved. I had a 15 page paper to write and was worrying about the baby that was to be born to my wife and I the Monday after I finished it. This semester was ultimately fulfilling though and I have to give a little advertisement for the Masters of Second Language Teaching program at Utah State. Anyone who may be considering a job in that field should check it out.
I was going to use this blog as a way to get feedback for some of the writing that I hope to do over the next while. That will be part of what this blog entails. I've been thinking a lot about what has inspired me to be who I am. I have been told since the time I was young that I am "unique". I always took that as meaning that I was just weird and people were trying to be nice. As I've gotten older (I won't ever grow up), I've come to embrace my own uniqueness and my desire to teach comes from wanting to help everyone to find theirs. I have to admit that I am an optimist at an insane level. I realize that life has it's hardships but they are a means to realize our potential. I believe that most people can do so much more than they are doing with a little effort and a lot of self-confidence. We are not meant to be limited in our possibilities. Anyone who tells us that we can't do something is not thinking of our best interest.
All this being said, I hope to post here some of the things that have inspired me. There are a lot and they continue to be found. I'll be putting on here reviews of movies that have made me want to be a better person, books that made my heart swell with confidence, mini-biographies of people who teach me everyday that I can reach my potential, and much more. I hope to help others to think about what their life is about and make it what it could be.

How's the little one? She still in the 'I'm always tired, what's going on?' stage?
Yeah she's still in that stage, but rapidly moving along. She's getting tons bigger and seems a lot more coherent. She's starting to smile and we can tell that she's going to laugh any day now. Gotta love it.
