Over the past year I have become increasingly interested in Christian music. I have listened to Michael W. Smith for quite a few years but never broke much past that. I happened to stumble across a band called Casting Crowns. I have to admit that they are one of the most inspirational bands that I have ever listened to. I would love to be able to attend one of their concerts, the unfortunate thing being that most Christian groups don't come to Utah for obvious reasons. I did find out though that they are coming to Boise, my hometown, on the 8th of October.
For those of the LDS faith like myself, who are not familiar with the genre, it is amazing. Casting Crowns is everyday kind of music. In the past six months I doubt there has been a day that I have not listened to at least one song. Some of their songs got me through hard times and others just make my heart soar every time I hear them. One in particular, "The Voice of Truth", I can not get through the song without getting teary eyed. The lyrics remind me that there is so much in the world that tries to drag us down, and yet there is a voice, whether you believe it is God, your conscience or something else, that tells us that we can do anything we set our minds to.
I highly suggest listening to them. If I can I will put a music player on this blog so I can put a song on. Visit their website here. There is a sample of a new song coming out soon. Enjoy!!!

I’m not so much into the Christian music Travis. As I posted somewhere else recently, the swaying of the arms, and the closed eyes at the concerts, and even in some church services, kind of creeps me out a little. That being said I do love good blue grass and gospel.
